Joni and Nelson Janney joined the leadership of First Baptist Church as Youth Leaders in 2016. After a short hiatus from 2019-2020, they returned as youth leaders in 2021. Growing up, they were both active in youth groups at their home churches and seek to bring that same excitement, joy and fellowship to the youth at First Baptist Church.

Joni is a lifelong member of FBC, and Nelson joined the church after he and Joni married.

Youth in grades 7-12, along with those in college or who have recently graduated high school, and who are interested in learning more about American Baptist Youth are invited to come to the next ABY event (check the calendar for dates & times) or talk with Joni and Nelson at church on Sundays.
